A revisiting of  past interests...searching for new connections...new stories... a series of gold-leaf etchings on wood cut backgrounds...echoes of an early interest in illuminated manuscripts...the use of decorative motifs is something I have slowly dissolved in my work over the past five years...at times I am tempted to resurrect it... a motif that referenced a connection to a certain European sensibility...the decorative as metaphor...always a difficult thing to do...sp
