'enveloped traces'

The waxed muslin envelope series continues to grow...the subtle etched surface embedded between the two surfaces...if the lithography people at uni. discover they are short of muslin for applying gum arabic its because I desperately needed to make more envelopes last week..they are the ones that have a tea stain glow about them...I know it has become something of a throw away comment within fine art circles that you either make it big or make lots of them...well I'm afraid this is on its way to fitting both criteria... of course it has nothing to do with either...just the obsessive/compulsive nature of the making...sp

  1. These are very interesting... I thought it was a quote from Audrey Flack, "If you can't make it good, make it big. If you can't make it big, make it red!? But I also like what you say. Make a lot of them.

  2. I always figure its best to ignore what is said in most fine art circles (they were responsible for promoting the god-awful work of damien hirst after all.....)

big.... small... multiples or alone - make it from the heart and to fulfill an inner desire for expression and it will sing (even if only for the maker....)
