Biography

Silent Parrot Press was established by print-maker/artist Glen Skien in Mackay, North Queensland in 2000. The studio space served as a gallery and community access studio in which fine art prints and limited edition artists' books were produced and exhibited.
Workshops and classes in printmaking techniques, book binding, box making and life drawing were the backbone of the studio.
With the artist's relocation to Brisbane in 2007 to complete both a Masters and Doctorate in Visual Arts Silent Parrot Press remains operational in name. Skien continues to hold a position of instructor/lecturer with the printmaking and drawing studios at Griffith University Queensland College of Art.
Glen has over 25yrs experience in the arts industry where he has worked as an exhibiting artist, a member of the exhibitions team with Artspace Mackay and facilitated workshops for secondary school children, university students and a range of community groups.
He has exhibited widely and his work is held in both private and public collections throughout Australia and Japan.
