Death of the artist statement...I have not prepared an artist statement for 'trace'... as far as I'm concerned the artist statement has been dead for over 50 years...it died in the back seat of a baby blue, rag-top Cadillac on January 1st. 1953 somewhere between Knoxville Tennessee and Oak Hill West Virginia...aged 29...cause of death was 'acute rt. ventricular dilation...loosely translated...a broken heart...
...and along with the death of the artist statement let's farewell the opening night bloated arteest speeches..... so much nicer to let people ask quiet questions... and for artists to do their talking through their work (well - that's MY arteest statement/ opening night speech......)
