the viewing of 'personage 1' drawing to an end...i have been thinking of the poetic resonances made possible through the use of objects...they offer an immediacy of language that relates to a poetic structure...allowing for a sparseness where what is left out is just as significant as what remains ...a wooden wind mobile, a crutch, a cut out figure in a box. needle and thread. a metal drypoint cut out figure of a horse and the dice from a word game that spells the word 'cloud'...i refer to it as poetic but i am uncertain if that is what it is...i refuse to allow the conscious act play too much of a role with these works...the only conscious thought is retaining..holding on to part of the initial silent significance that unfolded in the act of gathering...sp
